Noach
The waters subside But Noach won't leave the ark Until G-d says "Go"
A plain reading of the text suggests even after Noach knew the flood waters had subsided and the ground was dry, he remained in the ark and did not leave until commanded by G-d.From Genesis 8:11-16And the dove came in to him ... and in her mouth was an olive leaf ... so Noach knew that the waters were abated from the earth. And he stayed yet another seven days and send forth the dove, which did not return back to him any more ... Noach removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry ... And G-d spoke to Noach, saying, "Go out from the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons and your son's wives with you" ... And Noach went out. If you had just spent a year on a floating zoo, and you knew the land was dry, would you have waited to be told to leave?
